Choose a language and a theme. Every click builds a new sheet of words to trace and then write alone.
Tracing single letters teaches shapes; tracing whole words teaches writing. The moment letters have to join, a child meets spacing, sizing and the rhythm of moving across a line — none of which appear when practising the alphabet in isolation. Each line here starts with a model, then repeats it in pale grey all the way to the edge of the page, so the hand keeps moving and the shape is repeated enough times to stick.
Best for ages 4–9
English, French, Spanish and Arabic. The word language is chosen separately from the site language, so you can read the page in Arabic and print English words — useful in bilingual homes.
Yes. Words are drawn at random from the chosen theme, so pressing "New words" builds a fresh sheet. There are six themes — animals, colours, food, family, school and nature — with 288 words in total.
Once most single letters can be formed without a model, usually around 5 or 6. Words can start earlier if they are short and familiar — a name is often the first word a child writes willingly.
