Each brick is the sum of the two bricks under it. Climb to the top, or find the missing bricks.
Number pyramids turn a page of additions into a puzzle with a goal: reach the top. Each brick is the sum of the two bricks under it, so children add again and again without the boredom of a plain list. The last level hides bricks anywhere in the pyramid, and that changes everything: to find a lower brick, children must subtract — a natural way to see that addition and subtraction undo each other. Every pyramid with missing bricks has been checked to have exactly one solution.
Best for ages 6–10
