Counting a group of objects and writing the number links the three faces of a number: the quantity, the spoken word and the written digit. These sheets show colourful pictures arranged in rows of five, the same layout as a ten frame, so children can start to see “five and three more” instead of counting one by one. Three levels lead from 1–5 for the youngest to 11–20.
